I Teared Up. What's Up With That!!!

For 2&1/2 years, we got to see these lovely ladies each month. (Notice their beautiful teeth. You'd think they worked for an orthodontist or something.) They always greet us with warm smiles and friendly chit-chat. They really work as a team so well. Respect, and love for each other. Hard work and commitment to excellence in their job. We have been so blessed to have them in our comminity. Today, Sweet Baby Girl got her braces off, and so our monthly trip to their office will come to an end. We will miss them. Ladies, your dedication to your work goes way beyond your job, and into the hearts of each patient and parent. Please know that through all these years, you have made a wonderful difference in many lives and our community. This grateful mom, Thanks You. (side note, yes, that is my friend Mary from highschool that you've seen in other posts. Neat huh? I just love small town living!)

Yup, I did it. I teared up this morning when Sweet Baby Girl was having her braces off. I teared up. All over the waiting room and all. Silly...

I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because she's my baby. Maybe it's been a long 2 1/2 years and I'm glad for her... Or maybe it's the $4,500 we spent on her mouth, and what comes out of it isn't too nice since she became a teenager?! Well it looks good anyway.

I think it is because she is my Babygirl, and she is one more step closer to growing up and I don't like it all that much.

But she is and always will be our Sweet Baby Girl no matter how much she grows up.That I do like.

Hugs from Maine

I bet it feels so great to finally get them off. A word of advise from a mom who has been thru this with 2 sons. Make sure she wears her retainer EVERY night. It only takes a day or so for the teeth to shift. 15 year old is on his second retainer as his shifted a bit because he wasn't wearing it and we had to get a spring retainer to hopefully move them back. I'm excited for her and you. Take lots of pictures of that beautiful smile.

Awwww she is so pretty. I bet her mouth feels weird right now with them just getting off her teeth. Beautiful smile! I would probably be emotional with my baby getting her braces off too. I have a few more years before mine has to get them.

We put our 2 girls through the rigors of orthadontia and i also cried, TEARS OF JOY! I'm pretty sure we financed our Doc's summer home. It was all worth it, they have beautiful smiles.
Cute girlie you have there.

We have 2 down, 1 to go. I've always appreciated that my parents made sure I had orthodonture (because I had the worst overbite!), and I am grateful we've been able to do the same for our kids.

Tell her I said, "YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL!" And then tell her to kiss you both for the sacrifices you made to give her a lovely smile for the rest of her life. She probably won't appreciate it fully now. It won't hit until she lays HER baby down in that chair and then writes the check and says good-bye to those things she COULD have bought. Kiss your Mama and Daddy little girl and then go SMILE at the world!

Lisa, I know what you mean about them growing up.. my two daughters had braces and when they came off ,, it was a great, but sad day. 10 years after my oldest daughter had her's off, she fell in her bathtub and knocked out her two front teeth!!
All I could think of was all that #$$ down the drain.. literally!! She wasn't hurt and has had them temporairily fixed... (keep her safe in the tub!!:)

She looks beautiful! Don't you hate it when they grow up sooo fast? One minute they are learning to walk and the next... The babies grow up too fast!
