Hey Girlfriends, I thought that today would be a great day to show you the French Country Bench Blue Eyed Husband made for me years ago.
He made it for me for a Christmas gift, when we lived in our old house
It is specifically ten feet long to fit the eight foot kitchen table he made.
Of course it's one of my favorite things, and I love it. I saw it in a magazine for $2,000. I think that one was like 4 feet. Anyway, I painted it a bright yellow that I had around the house, (I think I started with some country red and thought it was too dark ), and then rubbed stain over that to quiet it down a bit. I am such a slob when it comes to painting. It's a good thing I like the "worn" look.
Or maybe I like the "worn" look because I'm such a paint slob. Hmmmm...
The "fancy" part are appliques we got at Home Depot. Hope you enjoyed it.
Hugs from Maine

What a good looking bench. I'm sure it's much sturdier than the $2000 one in the magazine.
Have a great day!
What a gorgeous bench! And even more special because it was hand made. I think the paint job is fab as well.

That is sooo pretty! Love it! Lucky girl, you have a very talented husband!
I love it and I want it,please ship soon (kidding). Wow you are lucky to have this....Barb
I am so jealous. That bench is just gorgeous. You are so lucky to have such a handy and talented husband. Does he make furniture for a living or is this a hobby?
Oh I so love the bench. My dad is the handy one but unfortunately he lives several states away. Hubs tries his hand every so often and does a good job but I don't know that I can convince him to do something like that. You are so lucky.
Wow, the bench your husband made is gorgeous! It's amazing! :) I love the paint job on it, too, and how it looks with the cute pillows you put on it! :)
Have a great day! :)
I love your home and all the beautiful creations throughout. My blue eyed husband doesn't have a mechanical bone in him, but has so many special qualities that I love him bunches.
If this house is up for sale, where to next?
I know where ever that is you will make that house into a HOME too.
Houses in Florida seem much smaller and definitely do not have such high ceilings.
Love your Blog....
