Whats With All The Tissue?

Our blog friend over at Country Doctors Wife, reminded me of some very sad news today. Most of us have been aware of it. Some have already blogged about it. Our much loved Country Home Magazine is closing its doors. Or should I say pages.

This particular issue has been read at our house with a side of these,

Well, not really, but almost. I, like all of you have been receiving Country Home Magazine for so many years, I don't even remember when I first fell in love. I mean, when I first started reading it. (don't worry, Blue Eyed Husband already knows)
I've fallen in love with country style because of this magazine.

I've learned how to enjoy and use what I have within our home and not spend money we don't have, while still making it a warm, inviting place to be. This magazine has brought me many hours of enjoyment, excitement, and inspiration.

When I saw the last issue on the Wal-Mart rack, I panicked and almost bought everyone with hopes that if I did, they would change their minds. (Silly I know)

I like all of you, will really miss Country Home Magazine. How will I get my Karen Weir-Jimerson fix? She is the one that encouraged me, (unknowingly of course), to write my blog. She is so good, she makes it look doable to write about the things and people you love.

I'm grateful for the years we've had together Country Home. How does Nat King Cole sing it...

When I fall in love... It will be forever... or I'll never fall in love...

When I give my heart... It will be completely, or I'll never give my heart...

Country Home, you dear magazine, friend, will always have my heart. (Just don't tell Blue Eyed Husband)

Hugs from Maine

I too will be missing this magazine. And all the great ideas they share. If you come across anything that is close to filling its spot, please let me know! Have you been given a subscription of another sort from them? I live in Iowa, but haven't heard from them about my current subscription. I thought I'd be one of the first, since I'm about 30 minutes away from them.

I have binders from years worth of great ideas I clipped out of magazines, Country Home being one of them. I wish I had room to store all the old copies, but I just clipped out stuff that caught my eye. I will miss it. Not that I know anything about running a magazine, but couldn't we try and start our own and make it even better? Look at all the CH lovers that we would could woo!

I am so thankful to have saved the copies I have of this magazine. I kinda regret not buying more as I could. I just guess I thought it would always be around...sniff! :o)

I don't understand that it is quitting. I just got a letter asking me to resubscribe for two more years. I guess I won't be sending them a check. Thanks for the info.

That is sad....I'm curious to know what other magazines you find inspiration from though? That could be a very interesting blog post.:) (Hint, hint)
