These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things, Monday

Well, as most people know, we got slammed with a little bit of this, O.K., a lot of this
An unexpected, late February snow storm, is first on my favorite things list. Sorry don't hate me.

One of the reasons it's a favorite thing is because while outside my back door, enjoying looking at all of this,

I saw this,
looking all lost and alone like. Sitting in a tree covered with the most breath taking snow. Isn't God Awesome! This is my second favorite thing, Gods surprises.

Well, as I drink my hot coffee, watch the dogs play happily on the deck in the fresh snow, plan out my day, (cleaning, laundry, and more cleaning. not to difficult),I will share with you my last favorite thing of this snow filled Monday. Months ago God lay on my heart to buy a journal of sorts for me to write in it notes of love to my sweet baby girl. Being 13, she probably doesn't talk to me as much as I wish she did, would. She most likely doesn't hear things I'm trying to tell her either. (this I can tell by the constant rolling of eyes as I speak). So I thought this could be a way of letting her know how much I really do love and cherish her life, as my only baby girl, who she is and is becoming... I told her we would put it in a place that would be private. That we would know where it is. That she could write back to me if she felt, but didn't "have" too. Even if she only reads the affirmations of love her mom has for her, over and over. Thats fine with me.

So there you have it ladies, friends, sisters. I love you girls. I so appreciate having all of you in my life in one capacity or another. I feel truly blessed by the God I love and serve to the best of my ability. That He has given me all of you. I hope and pray your Monday is a blessing and that you too will feel His love. I know I do.

Hugs from snowy, snowy, Maine

The snow is absolutely beautiful! I am one of those people too, who people roll their eyes at, because I actually pray for snow....can't help it! And I love the journal; that is a really great idea.

Lisa,
Your words about your daughter and the journal you keep for her brought tears to my eyes. How blessed she is to have you as her Mama. Wouldn't we all love to have a journal when we're, oh, 44 to look back on and read how much our mother loves us, the hopes and dreams she held for us and the way she knew us. Hang on to that precious book until she is old enough to value it the way it is meant to be cherished!
I started a similar journal with Zoe when she was younger but we've let it go by the wayside...Maybe I should dig it out again.
Our daughters are amazing beings...they offer reminders of ourselves in many ways but are unique individuals. I love watching her journey.
Thanks as always for sharing.
Hugs,
Allison
