I've Been Framed!

Recently while visiting one of my favorite blogs, I was reminded of my love for chalkboards. Over at Adventures In Renovating A Brooklyn Limestone, she does an adorable cupboard door chalkboard project. Their whole house is unbelievable in the fact that they are totally transforming it into something that truly belongs in a magazine!!!

This is a chalkboard that I made from an old frame bought at a lawn sale a couple of years ago.

It was a yucky gold, and so I spray painted it black. I also used spray chalkboard paint to paint the piece of board Blue Eyed Husband inserted for me.

The idea of using an old, inexpensive picture frame for a chalkboard is right up my alley. I am a lover of lawn & yard sales, second hand stores, etc...

And treasures can be found for pennies there. Also, chalkboard paint is great to cover walls,

Something I've yet to do, but will some day. I think every house should have one wall covered with chalkboard paint.

And then I found this fancy schmancy framed chalkboard that is also magnetic!

Can we say WoooWeeee!!! For those who like a touch of elegance. And imagine the beautiful chalkboard this mirror would make,

I would sooo use it for a chalkboard. Mirrors aren't my friends anyway.

So, you get the idea. Find some frame that is inexpensive, and speaks to you...

Turn it into a chalkboard. Post with the results.

Hugs from Maine

What a cool idea! You have inspired me to keep an eye ever watchful for treasures, though they may be hidden in the guise of something else. Oh, and I'm making cookies to take up to some of my nursing friends that I used to work with next week, so I'm headed to TJ Maxx while I'm up there! I'm excited! It's the little things that get me excited!:)LOL

Ok. Loooove it! I am SO going to find a place in my home to do this. I was just admiring a beautiful, empty frame at the thrift store today and contemplating what I could do with it. What great timing!
