Bedroom Updo, Oh, I Mean Redo

Here is a picture of our (mine and Blue Eyed Husbands) bedroom. Not to impressive is it. Thats what I thought. And actually have been told. Nester had posted earlier (I would put a link, but I don't know how to yet) about the importance of taking the time to make our bedrooms a priority. She was right. Why is it, that we leave that room last when decorating, organizing, painting, etc...

We seem to "finish" every other room in the house and barely even make our bed let alone create a lovely place to come to at the end of the day. In our 24 years of marriage, I've been guilty of this very thing. Yeah, alright, I do make the bed, and even keep the bedroom picked up, (I walk the OCD line remember), but even so,can you see the miss matched blankets, comforters, etc... Click the picture and look at what's on the windows!

And so, with the help of Girl Friend, (who really knows how to make a bed and a bedroom) all of the blogs for encouragement, I will transform our Blah, Please Do Something With This Bedroom, into...

Something like this...

Well, I'm pretty sure it won't be that "girly". Although Blue Eyed Husband really doesn't mind. I need to do something with this chair I got from a lawn sale last year,

But I do think I'm off to a good start with the new $15.oo sheets and coverlet I got yesterday from T.J.'s,

I also have the wall color picked out. I'm definitely going to do "mistreatments" on the windows. (Thank you Nester) Something clever, gorgeous, with absolutely no sewing involved. I'll be sure to post pictures as progress is made.

Hugs from Maine

Oh I can't wait to see the makeover! I recently purchased a new comforter set for us and it made such a difference in the room as well. Can't wait for the photos to start coming!!

You are too funny sis girl. When you are finished we need to work on my bedroom/bathroom ... it still has the primer on and no paint. I should send 'girlfriend' my picture and see what she would come up with for those two rooms ...
