I'M TRYING TO GET EXCITED. I THINK I'LL HAVE TO SETTLE FOR GRATEFUL

We will be moving in two weeks to this house. 14 days and counting.

It is a brand new, never been lived in, clean, with the most beautiful view, (even Dakota loves it) It's set apart by itself, and is the first house in a development, that has yet to be developed.

This is what she is looking at.

The driveway,

I've been struggling with being excited for the move. I just can't get there. Not to the new house. To excited. This is the master bath. I hate that word, (master). We currently don't have one in the house we are moving from. So yeah, I could get excited about that.

master bedroom, with a great view remember.

huge kitchen here,

and here.

We , my siblings and I, were always brought up to be grateful for everything. We had little like most people, and so the very little was a lot. We lived in an apartment our entire lives. And my parents had 7 children!!! I feel so blessed to have had exactly what we had, and no more. When I was a child, I would dream of having our own house. Big, bright, spacious...

I love the house we are leaving. It is an old Victorian with large rooms, high ceilings... Our neighbors are old, caring, sweet, helpful. They still sit on the swing in the evenings. We are right in the center of town and it is very convenient to go where ever at a moments notice. T.J.'s is right down the street. I like that. Plus, I'm a REAL neighborhood kind of girl. Blue Eyed Husband and the male peeps, not so much.

It is time to move. Our current landlord is ready to sell. We are not ready to buy...

Excitement is not anywhere in me. Gratefulness however, is. Maybe I just need to hold onto that, and call it good. I will be just a spit away from my two sisters. They literally live down the hill. THIS, I am so very thankful for. (Florida sister comes up for the summer to her cottage with her husband.)

You poor thing! I can totally understand why you are torn. I think you will love the extra room, the breathtaking view and having your sisters so close. You will also make lots of great memories in your new house. Hang in there!

Try to focus on how fabulous your new house will be once you move in and make it your own. I always enjoy making the little changes to a home to give it my style. Plus, you can share all your projects with us, lol.

Lisa,

I'm sorry that you can't get excited about the move. I know it's hard to leave somewhere you love. But, your new house...I think it's dreamy! I'm not much of a city girl, though. I'm a huge sucker for front porches, rounded rooms and ... that view! Lord have mercy, that view! I hope that once you settle in it will feel like home.

XO, Pam

I'm sorry that you are having to move from a home that you love before you are ready. Moving is tough with or without excitement.

I love your grateful heart, though...you have the right attitude. Wishing you so much happiness in your new home.

That view is beautiful! Your 'old' house is really charming. It's nice to move into a new place and not have to deal with someone else's 'cooties'. Ha! Looking forward to new decorating pics!
