Finally, Monday Cleaning, Done!

Well I'm done cleaning for the day and it is 6:30. I'm usually done way before now, but I had a late start, and some sweet company dropped by. Well worth stopping what I'm doing to sit, chat, and drink some ice tea.

The weather here in Maine today was so very nice. Sunny, warm, blue skies.
I've spent a lot of time just being home. Doing home stuff.

We will be getting ready to move to the other house soon, and so I am trying to spend the rest of my time here just enjoying this house. I have loved living here. The neighbors, the street, being in town. I'm grateful for the time we've had here and am trying to get excited about the move. It will come I'm sure.

I'm posting pictures of recent "finds" These wooden candle sticks were at Goodwill for $1.99 each. I'm going to spray them white, buy candles, and call it good.

Found this door on the side of the road the other night, (amongst other things), when I was coming home from the park with the dogs. My friend Brenda and her daughter put it in the back of their van and to my house it went. Thanks Brenda! It is solid wood, and smaller than the average door. Maybe a table? It must have been used near a slanted ceiling or under a stairway.
Neat huh?

The house we are moving into doesn't have a fridge, and we had to get our own. I found this at a lawnsale last weekend. One of my four brothers who buys items and resells all the time, said I should get this even if it just gets us started. He noticed how clean it was inside, and the price was right. They wanted $50 but took $40.

The ugly gold color really threw me, but then I remembered seeing someone put chalkboard paint on a fridge and knew this is what we would do. I will post after pictures soon.

Hugs from Maine

Those are really great finds. I have candle sticks similar to those that I painted white. I have also seen on HGTV where you can redo appliances with appliance paint, but I love the chalkboard paint idea, can't wait to see how it all turns out! :) Madeline

Love the chalkboard paint idea for the fridge!

Looking at your previous post ... oh my word, that is the house I dream about. Literally ... when I have a house in my dreams, it looks exactly like that. What does that mean? I think I need a house like that. Make my dreams come true, right? LOL

Hey Lisa, you found some great things. Love the door,, gee, I have about 3 doors not being used and really don't know what to do with them. I have a pair of indoor french doors I've had for about 15 years and hope some day to find a place for them. Good luck in packing up and moving. Are you still staying in the same area? Just wondering..have a good day..

What a grand idea to put chalkboard paint on the fridge. The kids will LOVE it and it'll be handy for lists too, don't you think? What a buy. I am always impressed when somebody re-uses an item that has been around for a bit. Good for you!

Blessings,
Spencer
