Isn't that the truth . . things seem to become easier to understand as I become older.

Curious about your blog name. Are you a Bartlett also? That is my maiden name and we don't hear it often on the west coast. Love your blog. have a great weekend Kathy

Lisa,
Wishing you and your family a Blessed Easter. Ben is in my prayers. My son, my baby of three, spent his 21 birthday in Afhganistan. It was a hard day for me as his mom. Have a story to share: Short version: He was to be back in the states afer his first deployment to Kuwait on Dec 24. He called Dec 24 and said he was snowed in in Maryland and would not make it home for Christmas and to tell everyone Merry Christmas and he would be home as soon. I was happy he was back in the states, this was before 9/11 we thought we were safe within our borders. I put down the phone and cried. I was alone in the house and heard the front door open. I was upstairs, thought my daughter had come over. I waited and no "hi mom" came. I got frightened as my husband was at work at Radio Shack. I kind of peeked out into the hall that lead to the stairs. There standing on the bottom step with the biggest smile and in his uniform was my son! Hey mom, Merry Christmas! I flew down those stairs and hugged, hugged, hugged him. Believe me Lisa, I know where your heart is, I understand all too well where you aer now. Where I was for 6 years and will be again later this year when my son goes to Turkey. You can share anything you need to share with me. Please email me anytime. I will try to get back to you within two days. God Bless and yes Jesus is always where us mothers cannot be for our sons once they join the Military. HE will wrap arms of love around Ben.
