FRIDAY POST

You know, its been awhile since I've posted on this blog. My blog. My out there for the whole world to read as I vomit my feelings, life, and such, blog. I so forget people actually read this.

So much as been going on here. Our house has been full time and time again with Katie and her friends. Laughing, talking, eating... I love being in the kitchen making cupcakes, hearing my daughter laughing with the people she loves coming from the other room. It's who she is. It fills my heart.

She is growing up faster then I could have ever imagined. But, there are still times when she is in need of her moms gentle, encouraging, loving words. And I so cherish those moments. I wrap them up carefully in my mothers heart, and save them for a rainy day.

I am so proud of who she is. Not what she has or can do... but the "who" of Katelyn.
Insightful, kind, loving, helpful... She is a good friend to those who call her friend. What a gift that girl is.

Its all good, and I am grateful.

Hugs from Maine

How great to capture those moments and that's one of the great things about blogging: it's not just for others - it's really for US.

Just sent my 19-year-old out the door to volunteer at a river parkway for the day and it was lovely to do the mom things for her: pack a lunch, make sure she had sun screen, ask her about gas (long drive). I know she'd survive without me but it's also nice to know I'm still part of her life. :)

Hi Lisa,
Enjoy those moments. I lost my hearing when my children were 5, 10 and 12, as I am sure you know. No pity party here, 13 years later I had the cochlear implanted and have sometimes as much as 75% of my life back with my now grown adult children. But with my daughters I saw their smiles, tears, we communicate with whatever worked for us at the time and it was still a beautiful time. Reading your post, made me very happy for you and every other mother out that that takes what they can hear for granted (even the disgusting stuff teens always come up with once in a while, lol) That is what life is really about, those precious, "as life happens" moments, isn't is? When I could hear again, what I was startled to remember was "inflection" in voices. How a little word like "oh" could have such different meantings. Glad to see your post today. Blessings,
Lynn
